EQUIL is a digital suite of tools that allows athletes to own their performance data as Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on the XRP Ledger.
EQUIL applications allow users to experience the real world utility of NFT technology. Users are rewarded with EQUIL tokens for positive health, wellness and self-improvement through app engagement.
Initially, EQUIL will be primarily for athletes, however this will extend to users interested in health, wellness and physical fitness.
EQUIL was recently successful in being selected from a pool of over 150 international participating projects to receive a 125,000USD grant. These funds will be invested into the further development of applications with integrated XRPL NFT functionality.
The timing of the grant and subsequent development aligns with the deployment of native NFT support on the XRP Ledger. This marks the beginning of an exciting era of advancement with web3.0 integrated applications.
“We are proud to receive this award which allows us to bring to market the final development of athlete applications Peak and Multi.Events. Both applications will include NFT minting and marketplace functions which allow athletes to own and trade their performance data. We believe athletes should be able to own this information and engage with an online marketplace to be rewarded for their performances.
We envision a paradigm shift in the way we interact with human health and performance data. By building applications with NFT integrations, individuals are empowered to engage in the evolving internet of value – a place where physical performance value is owned and traded.
We chose the XRP Ledger due to its energy efficiency, low transaction fees and open source community. The XRP Ledger is continually developing and evolving with the Ripple team as its backbone. This project is about real-world utility.
